quello che stiamo facendo ha un riconoscimento.
Il Museo del Metaverso è un progetto no profit e, nonostante abbia molta visibilità e altrettanti riconoscimenti in stima ed affetto da parte di chi lo segue, non è mai stato destinatario né di finanziamenti, né di donazioni, dal 2007 ad oggi.
Il costo vivo del progetto è stato sostenuto interamente dalla sua fondatrice, vale a dire il costo del simulatore che in Second Life era molto alto fra acquisto, quota mensile e account premium. Se non fosse stato (e non fosse tuttora) per la disponibilità di persone amiche e degli artisti medesimi, che in ogni modo si davano da fare per supportare il progetto con il loro aiuto sul campo, il Museo del Metaverso non avrebbe potuto sostenersi.
Tuttavia arrivò il momento in cui si dovette dire stop, perchè non si poteva proseguire con un progetto costoso, senza un minimo di introiti.
In Opensim la situazione è molto diversa, grazie ai costi di gran lunga inferiori, ma anche grazie soprattutto alla sponsorizzazione che il Museo ha da parte dell'owner della Grid Craft, che abbatte di molto il costo mensile della sim.
Tuttavia, essendo il Museo del Metaverso non solo luogo dell'arte digitale, ma anche contenitore di cultura, necessita comunque di disporre di un budget in denaro per organizzare conferenze, concerti, letture, incontri e tutte quelle inziative che possano rendere questo luogo uno spazio vitale e vivace per l'arte e per la cultura.
All'inizio pensavo di reperire fondi con una operazione di crowdfunding, servendomi degli appositi siti, nati allo scopo, ma quando immaginavo questo, MdM ancora non aveva un sito, dal 6 Febbraio 2015 si dispone di un sito web, quindi credo che si possa ottenere lo stesso risultato, se le donazioni, anche piccole, avvengono qui sul sito web del museo, mediante l'apposito bottone PayPal implementato in ogni pagina.

Se ogni visitatore donasse 2,00 Euro, il sito avrebbe un introito di 1.168 Euro circa in tre mesi, con una parte dei quali , prima di tutto appianerei un po' di spese sotenute, quali, sito premium, dominio, costo della sim, pubblicità per la pagina FB, ma soprattutto inizierei a programmare delle inziative di un certo valore.
Qualsiasi relatore non verrebbe gratis a tenere una conferenza e non sarebbe nemmeno giusto pretenderlo, perché io credo che il lavoro vada sempre retribuito.
Inoltre, mi piacerebbe che il Museo del Metaverso avesse una postazione fissa in un Museo di Arte Contemporanea e perché questo avvenga, dobbiamo lavorare tutti parecchio, per farci conoscere e apprezzare, anche mediante pubblicità a pagamento.
Cosa che ho iniziato a fare la settimana prima dell'inaugurazione e per la durata di una settimana e che ho ripreso a fare per un intero mese, sponsorizzando la pagina di Facebook del Museo. Questo intervento ha portato nuovi utenti interessati e mi ha dato l'opportunità di conoscere persone interessanti che stanno dando una mano alla nostra causa.
Qui sotto trovate il bottone PayPal, come in ogni pagina, donare 2,00 Euro a voi non costa niente, ma per le nostre attività è di vitale importanza, ne va della sopravvivenza di questo importante progetto, al quale partecipano circa 50 artisti, provenienti da ogni parte del mondo.

The Museo del Metaverso is a non-profit project and, despite having a lot of visibility and many awards in esteem and affection by those who follow it, has never been nor recipient of funding or donations, from 2007 to present.
The real cost of the project was supported entirely by its founder, ie the cost of the simulator in Second Life that was very high among purchase, monthly fee and premium accounts. If it was not (and still is again) for the availability of friendly people and the same artists, who in any case busied themselves to support the project with their help on the field, the Museo del Metaverso could not sustain itself.
But the time came when we had to say stop, because you could not continue with a costly project, without a minimum income.
In OpenSim the situation is very different, due to the costs much lower, but also thanks to the sponsorship that the museum has from the owners of the Grid Craft, which breaks down much of the monthly cost of the sim.
However, as the Museo del Metaverso not only a place of digital art, but also container of culture, still needs to have a budget money to organize conferences, concerts, readings, meetings and all those initiatives that can make this place a space vital and vibrant for art and culture.
At first I thought to raise funds with an operation of crowdfunding mainly using the appropriate sites, created for the purpose, but when I imagined this, MdM still did not have a site, from February 6, 2015 , we have a website, so I guess we can achieve the same result, if the donations, however small, take place here on the museum's website, using the appropriate button PayPal implemented on every page.

This intervention has brought new users interested and gave me the opportunity to know interesting people who are helping our cause.
