Saturday, March 7, 2015, in the auditorium, held the inauguration of the Museum, the welcome presence of dr. Mario Gerosa and Dr. Elif Ayiter. The meeting will be streamed on the web. Will be presented the structure created by Elif Ayiter aka Alpha Auer for the Museo del Metaverso, and all the artists will be able to rely on the participation of Mario Gerosa to ask some questions about the status of media art.
MARIO GEROSA
Mario Gerosa (1963), giornalista e saggista,si è laureato in architettura al Politecnico di Milano, con una tesi sui luoghi immaginari di Alla ricerca del tempo perduto di Marcel Proust.
Nel 1987 ha vinto il Premio Pasinetti-Cinema Nuovo con un saggio sugli attori di Luchino Visconti. Ha ideato e curato le mostre “Proust au Grand Hotel de Balbec” (Palazzo Sormani, Milano, 1989), dedicata al grand hotel immaginario della Recherche, “Le camere del delitto. Gli interni mentali di John Dickson Carr” (Mysfest, Cattolica, 1991), dedicata agli ambienti dei romanzi gialli legati ai “delitti della camera chiusa, “Rinascimento virtuale”, la prima esposizione sull’arte di Second Life realizzata in un museo, allestita nel 2008 al Museo di Storia Naturale di Firenze.
Tra i suoi libri, Mondi virtuali (con Aurélien Pfeffer, Castelvecchi, 2006), Second Life (Meltemi, 2007), Rinascimento virtuale (Meltemi,2008), Il cinema di Terence Young (Il Foglio letterario, 2009), Robert Fuest e l’abominevole Dottor Phibes (Falsopiano, 2011), Cinema e tecnologia (a cura di, Edizioni Le Mani, 2011).
Ha insegnato Multimedia e paesaggi virtuali al Politecnico di Milano e ha tenuto conferenze sul cinema e sulle culture digitali.
Attualmente è caporedattore di AD.

ELIF AYTER AKA ALPHA AUER
Elif Ayiter, aka. Alpha Auer, is a designer, educator and researcher whose creative interests are based in three dimensional online virtual worlds and their avatars, as well as in developing and implementing hybrid educational methodologies between art & design and computer science. She teaches full time at Sabanci University in Istanbul and is also the Director of Studies of the I-Node of the Planetary Collegium in Greece.
Her texts have been published at academic journals such as the Leonardo Electronic Almanac, the Journal of Consciousness Studies, and Technoetic Arts and she has authored many book chapters in edited academic books. She has presented creative as well as research output at venues including the John Hansard Gallery, UK, ISEA2011, Siggraph, Creativity and Cognition, SPIE, Computational Aesthetics and Cyberworlds. Elif Ayiter also is the chief editor of the academic journal Metaverse Creativity with Intellect Journals, UK.
